Ukraine has received over ten NASAMS systems from Norway and secured the inclusion of the term “Russian aggression” in a key UN resolution. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Norwegian military aid and political firmess are essential for Ukraine’s energy stability and defense.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this during an interview with NRK News. He stated that Norwegian support became vital for Ukraine’s survival during the full-scale invasion. According to the President, Norway provided not only the systems but also missiles by coordinating with other nations.
“Even Norway’s internal stocks were not enough, and then the country worked with other states at the political level to provide us with additional missiles. It was very important,” Zelenskyy highlighted.
Beyond air defense, Norway supplied gas during winter strikes on infrastructure and contributed to the International Fund for Ukraine (PURL). Cooperation on IRIS-T systems and drone production shows strong allied unity. Zelenskyy praised the Norwegian Parliament for its unanimous support, which remains among the most reliable in the world.
Diplomatic Victory at the UN
Zelenskyy also addressed the UN General Assembly resolution “Supporting a Lasting Peace in Ukraine,” which received 107 votes. The President revealed that some partners pressured Ukraine to remove specific terms from the document. He firmly rejected proposals to exclude the phrase “Russian aggression” to ensure the world remembers the nature of the conflict.
Zelenskyy explained:
“Various partners offered us a text of the resolution without two words: ‘Russian aggression.’ I said: ‘No, it is Russian aggression.’ If we do not include these words, people will forget about it in two or three years.”
He further added: “We cannot allow people and countries to forget that this is actually aggression against peaceful people.”
Previously, The Ukrainian Review reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes Ukraine can achieve peace by November.
