Russian Lieutenant Colonel Andrey Syrotyuk utilized kamikaze drones to eliminate his own subordinate servicemen during combat operations. The incident took place after a group of soldiers refused to move forward due to their injuries. The commander, using the call sign “Orel,” personally monitored the destruction of his troops via a live feed.

This was reported by Russian resources and military bloggers citing eyewitness accounts. According to the published data, a unit of the 121st Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces came under fire from their own equipment instead of receiving medical assistance. The soldiers requested evacuation, yet the command interpreted their inability to continue the attack as grounds for physical liquidation.
Abuse of Personnel and Systemic Command Crisis
Andrey Syrotyuk has repeatedly appeared in reports concerning the brutal treatment of subordinates. It is known that under his leadership, soldiers were sent into assaults without proper support, and one group was left without food or water for 12 days.
Despite these methods, the Russian leadership awarded the Lieutenant Colonel the title “Hero of Russia.” He received the award for the alleged “liberation of Kupiansk,” although the commander was not present at the scene. Following a series of scandals, Major General Ksenofontov appointed Syrotyuk to lead another unit, the 1486th Regiment.
Such cases indicate a profound management crisis within the occupying army during the full-scale invasion. While repressions continue at the front, infrastructure collapses are also being recorded in the enemy’s rear. For instance, mass power outages were recorded across several regions of Russia, creating additional pressure on military logistics.
Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported on the exposure of informant networks. Recently, the SBU neutralized several FSB agents in a week who were operating in the enemy’s interest within Ukraine.
