The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained several FSB agents last week. They planned attacks on military personnel and infrastructure. They also coordinated Russian shelling across Ukraine.

SBU counterintelligence conducted special operations in Odesa, Khmelnytska, Chernivetska, and Poltavska oblasts. They neutralized agent networks and individual operatives recruited by Russian services.
This was reported by The Ukrainian Review with reference to SBU briefings on its official Telegram channel.
Attacks on Military Personnel in Odesa

In Odesa, counterintelligence detained three local residents. They belonged to an FSB network. They were preparing attacks on ZSU soldiers and SBU special forces.
The perpetrators monitored soldiers’ homes and parking areas. They planned to place improvised explosives near apartments. They also intended to remotely detonate vehicles. Authorities detained them while they were transporting explosives to the planned attack sites.
Attempted Sabotage of a Railway Station in Khmelnytska Oblast
In Khmelnytska oblast, the SBU exposed a 16-year-old teenager recruited through Telegram channels. On FSB orders, he installed a hidden camera near a Ukrzaliznytsia station. He tracked train movements toward the front. He also prepared an improvised explosive device.
During searches, authorities seized explosive components and a mobile phone containing evidence of cooperation with the Russian special service.
Sabotage at an Electrical Substation in Chernivtsi
In Chernivtsi, counterintelligence detained a foreign citizen recruited by the FSB to set fire to a key electrical substation. According to the SBU, the man bought five liters of gasoline. He entered the energy facility’s territory. He tried to ignite the equipment.
Authorities detained the perpetrator at the scene and charged him with attempting sabotage under martial law.
Adjusting Shelling in Poltavska Oblast

In Poltavska oblast, the SBU exposed a 40-year-old resident. He transmitted coordinates of Ukrainian military units and mobile air defense groups to the FSB.
The agent recorded locations during air raid alerts and attempted to help the enemy bypass the air defense system. At the same time, he spread fake information about the ZSU on social media.
Overall, in 2024–2025, the SBU recorded over 400 cases where Ukrainians were targeted for involvement in arson, attacks, or sabotage. Every fifth of them was a minor.
Incidentally, The Ukrainian Review previously wrote that Vasyl Malyuk announced the completion of his tenure as head of the Security Service of Ukraine. Currently, the chief of the SBU Special Operations Center “A,” Yevhen Khmara, temporarily performs the duties of the head of SBU.
