Zelenskyy confirms request for Tomahawk missiles from the US, but it was confidential information

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine’s request for Tomahawk missiles was one of the secret parts of the Victory Plan and was outraged by the “leak” of this information.

He said this in an interview with representatives of the leading media in Northern Europe, Babel reports.

When many countries began to support the Victory Plan, you see what is happening in the media now, they said that Ukraine wants or wanted to get a lot of missiles, such as Tomahawk and so on, he said.

According to the president, the Tomahawk issue was confidential information between Ukraine and the United States.

How to understand these messages? It means that there is nothing confidential between the partners, Zelenskyy added.

The New York Times reported the day before that the secret part of the Victory Plan contained a request to provide Tomahawk. NYT interlocutors believe that this is a completely unrealistic requirement.

The range of the Tomahawk is 1,500 miles (ca. 2,414 km), more than seven times the range of the ATACMS missiles that Ukraine received this year. And the U.S. has sent only a limited number of these systems, senior U.S. officials said.
