President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris met at the White House. The vice president said that she supports the way Ukraine sees the end of the war, Suspilne reports.
This became known during a broadcast from the White House.
Harris said that “no one can end the war without Ukraine’s participation”, but there is “someone” in the United States who wants Ukraine to give up a large part of its territory, agree to neutrality and “abandon its security ties with other countries”. Harris told Zelenskyy that the US shares his vision of ending the war.
These proposals are similar to Putin’s demands. But they are not offers of peace – they are offers of surrender, – she said during a speech with President Zelenskyy.
Harris also said that if Putin is not stopped, Poland, the Baltic states and NATO could become the next targets. Also during the meeting, the presidential candidate assured of further support for Ukraine and called it a strategic interest of the United States.
I will continue to support Ukraine and work to ensure that Ukraine wins this war. The United States must continue to fulfill its long-standing role as a global leader. We must stand with our allies and partners, – Kamala Harris said.
In his turn, the President of Ukraine thanked for the assistance provided. He noted the success of the format of the Peace Summit in Switzerland and said he was ready for the second one. Earlier, Zelenskyy said that the second Peace Summit is planned to be held before the US presidential election on November 5.
Earlier in the day, Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Joe Biden. The US President promised to accelerate funding for Ukraine by the end of his term. Zelenskyy told Biden about the Victory Plan, and the two countries will agree on the details of the plan.
