Former U.S. President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump posted a letter on Truth Social, allegedly from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, asking for a personal meeting on Friday, September 27, Radio Svoboda reports.

All of us in Ukraine want this war to end in a just peace. And we know that this cannot be achieved without America. That is why we must strive to understand each other and stay in close contact. A few days ago, we asked to meet with you, and I’m eager to hear your thoughts directly, firsthand, – Trump said in a statement.

The invitation also emphasized the importance of “having personal contact and understanding each other 100%.

You know that I have always had the utmost respect for everything that has to do with you, and that’s the way it should be, – the letter reads.

Later, Trump said he had agreed to a meeting to be held on Friday at Trump Tower in New York.

Earlier, sources in the Ukrainian delegation told Voice of America that Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s visit to the United States was being extended for another day.

The press service of the President of Ukraine did not inform about the possible meeting.
