Washington will turn to Kyiv to “understand a little better” the situation in the Kursk region of Russia, Babel writes.
This was stated by US National Security Advisor John Kirby, and added that the United States has not changed its policy on strikes on Russian territory “to combat immediate threats from abroad.”
Earlier, the Pentagon stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine could use American weapons to strike Russian forces anywhere on the border territory of the Russian Federation, from where it attacks Ukraine.
This applies to American GMLRS rockets, HIMARS artillery missile systems, and other artillery. However, the authorization does not apply to ATACMS – long-range surface-to-surface missiles.
It is known that the fighting in the Kursk region continues for the second day. The Russians write that their military retreated from the Sudzha gas metering station, through which gas is transited to Europe through the territory of Ukraine, and also lost control of the district centers of Sudzha and Korenevo and several other villages.
In turn, the Ukrainian side has not commented on the situation. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informs that over the past day, Russian aviation has become more active in the Sumy region. The occupiers have dropped more than 30 UAVs, and the shelling continues.
