On the night of April 6, 2026, the Active Operations Department of Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence conducted drone strikes on the Russian railway ferry Slavyanin in the Kerch Strait. Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces also hit multiple Russian targets in Crimea and other temporarily occupied areas of Ukraine.

The Main Directorate of Intelligence and the Unmanned Systems Forces confirmed the strikes.
Hitting Russia’s key supply vessel
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence, Slavyanin was the last operational Russian railway ferry in the Kerch Strait. It supplied Russian forces in Crimea with fuel, weapons, equipment, and ammunition.
In March, the vessel was already damaged by previous Ukrainian drone strikes, along with the ferry Avangard, which was later destroyed.
Series of strikes on military targets in occupied territories
On April 8, the Unmanned Systems Forces launched Operation “Easter Delivery”, hitting several Russian targets in Crimea and temporarily occupied regions of Ukraine.
In Feodosia, the unit “Magyar’s Birds” struck the area near a marine oil terminal, damaging territory around fuel tanks.
The Unmanned Systems Forces destroyed a Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system and a Zoopark-1M radar station in temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
The Unmanned Systems Forces hit the Tor-M2 air defense system and the drone preparation and storage facilities in the Stepne area of Donetsk Oblast.
Near Sukhodilsk, enemy supply depots were targeted.
The operations involved multiple units, including “Magyar’s Birds” and the “Raid” regiment.
Context
Destroying Slavyanin in the Kerch Strait significantly limits Russia’s ability to supply its forces in Crimea. It also reduces logistical support for its troops in southern Ukraine.
Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that Ukrainian forces are intensifying mid-range strike operations, boosting their capacity to counter Russian missile attacks.
