The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has received a letter of resignation from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.
This was announced on the morning of September 4 by Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk.
The statement will be considered at one of the next plenary sessions, – the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada wrote.
Ukrainian diplomat Dmytro Kuleba has been head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for more than four years, since March 4, 2020.
He was the youngest ever head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Kuleba is a former Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration in the government of Oleksiy Honcharuk, former Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Council of Europe, and Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
His predecessor in the post was Vadym Prystaiko, who served as minister for about six months, from August 2019.
Recently, on August 29, Dmytro Kuleba held talks in Brussels with the European Union’s head of diplomacy, Josep Borrell. They discussed Ukraine’s steps toward EU membership, the second peace summit, and pressure on Russia.
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister also said that he would discuss with his European counterparts the authorization for Kyiv to strike deep into Russian territory with Western weapons.
