This year, Ukraine started issuing grants for missile production. Next year, grants for powder factories are planned, Hromadske reports.
This was stated by Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov on the sidelines of the Defense Tech Valley summit.
Fedorov said that Ukraine has already launched a market for ammunition – “millions” of shells are already contracted and purchased by the state, in particular for drones. Regulations have also been removed for the production of gunpowder and other explosives in Ukraine.
This year, for example, the amount of investment in the Brave1 cluster has increased. I’ll tell you a secret, this year we started issuing grants for missile production. Next year, we will issue grants for gunpowder plants. These are non-refundable grants that we give as a kind of guarantee that you are investing and that these investments will pay off, – the minister said.
Ukraine is also creating various simulators for testing defense technologies, as well as infrastructure for testing.
Before we buy something, we test it on our own units and see how this or that drone works in real conditions, how the electronic warfare system works, – Fedorov explained.
According to Fedorov, over the past two and a half years, more than 200 companies developing robotic ground platforms, 500 companies manufacturing drones, and more than 100 developing electronic warfare (EW) equipment have emerged in Ukraine.
