US presidential candidate Harris will not meet with Putin for talks without Ukraine

US Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris will not meet with Putin for peace talks if Ukraine is not represented there, Babel reports.

She said this in an interview with the American TV channel CBS News.

She was asked whether she would meet face-to-face with Putin to agree on ending the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war.

Not bilaterally without Ukraine, no. Ukraine must have a say in its future, – Kamala said.

Kamala Harris also criticized the policy of her opponent, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, on Ukraine. She described it as “capitulation”.

If Donald Trump were president, Putin would be sitting in Kyiv right now. He is saying that he can end it on the first day. Do you know what that means? It’s about surrender, – the vice president said.

As a reminder, Donald Trump insisted that he could quickly reach a peace agreement with Putin and end Russia’s war against Ukraine in one day if elected president. The politician has repeatedly promised to end the war through negotiations, but he has never said exactly how it would be done. He only said that he planned to call Putin and Zelenskyy. He also repeatedly stated that US aid to Ukraine was a waste of money and refused to say that he wanted Ukraine to win.

Earlier, the administration of US President Joe Biden rejected any talks with Putin.
