Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk believes that the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region of Russia is a “defensive action.” He said this at a press conference in Warsaw on August 13, Radiosvoboda reports.

What Russian troops and Russian aviation are doing on Ukrainian territory has signs of genocide and inhuman crimes. And Ukraine has every right to wage war in such a way as to paralyze Russia in its aggressive intentions as effectively as possible, – Tusk explained.

Asked whether NATO members are not concerned that weapons sent to Ukraine for defense are used in Russia for offense, Tusk said he “would be very careful with such wording”.

The prime minister emphasized that Poland’s position on the war in Ukraine has not changed and they support Ukraine in the war, which is a defensive war.

Earlier today, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi said that Ukrainian troops continue their operation in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation, and have advanced in some areas from one to three kilometers over the past day. According to him, 74 settlements in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation are under Ukrainian control.
