Senior US diplomat holds talks in Kyiv

On August 14, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien met with the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak in Kyiv, Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s office informed, Radiosvoboda reports.

O’Brien arrived in the capital of Ukraine on August 13 and met with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and representatives of Ukrainian civil society.

His presence here in Kyiv sends a powerful message that the United States’ support for Ukraine remains unwavering, – US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink wrote on social media platform X.

In addition, a bipartisan delegation from the United States visited Ukraine on August 12: Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.

During the visit, the senators appealed to the administration of U.S. President Joe Biden to lift restrictions on the use of U.S. weapons provided to Ukraine.

Also, on August 9, the United States announced an additional military aid package for Ukraine worth about $125 million. The new package will be the 63rd tranche of equipment provided to Ukraine from the US Department of Defense’s stockpile since August 2021.
