U.S. President Donald Trump issued a series of high-profile remarks on the war with Iran, the US role in Ukraine, and possible dialogue with Russia ahead of upcoming international summits.

He shared some of the statements on Truth Social and delivered others while speaking to reporters at the White House.
War with Iran: Trump not rushing to end conflict
Trump said he does not intend to quickly end the conflict with Iran, despite media reports.
“For those few people left who read the failing The New York Times or watch fake news CNN and think I want to end the war with Iran – I may be under less pressure than any president who has ever held this office.”
He stressed that time favors the United States:
“I have all the time in the world. Iran does not – the clock is ticking.”
Trump also claimed Iran has suffered major losses, stating its navy, air force, and defense systems have been destroyed, while its leadership has been eliminated. He added that the blockade remains strong and conditions will worsen for Tehran.
At the same time, the US extended a ceasefire period while waiting for proposals from Iran.
Response to Prince Harry on Ukraine
Trump reacted to comments by Prince Harry, who had called for a stronger US role in supporting Ukraine.
“Prince Harry – how is he doing? Please give him my regards. I know one thing: he does not speak for the United Kingdom. I probably speak for the UK more than he does, but I appreciate the advice.”
With this, Trump dismissed the political weight of the statement while acknowledging the recommendation.
G20 summit and possible Putin attendance
Trump also commented on whether Vladimir Putin might attend the G20 summit.
“I don’t know about an invitation. But if he was invited, I believe you have to talk to everyone. I’m not one of those who says, ‘There’s a war, don’t talk to him.’ I like talking to everyone. I doubt he will come, though.”
He criticized Russia’s removal from the G8:
“They turned it into the G7 and kicked Russia out. I said it was a mistake – and I was right. At G7 meetings, 90% of the discussion is about Russia anyway. Why remove them?”
Trump added that Putin felt insulted by the decision and suggested that current global tensions might have been avoided if Russia had remained in the group.
Context
The G20 Summit 2026 is expected to take place in the United States. Amid the ongoing war with Iran and Russia’s war against Ukraine, Washington’s position on global security remains central.
Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that Masoud Pezeshkian publicly thanked Russia and Vladimir Putin for their support, saying their actions “inspire” Iran during the war.
