During the night of April 24, Russian forces attacked Odesa, killing two people – an elderly couple – and injuring 15 others.

Serhiy Lysak, head of the city’s military administration, reported the attack.
What is known about the aftermath
A 75-year-old couple died as a result of the shelling. Among the 15 injured, eight are hospitalized and are receiving necessary medical care.
The attack damaged residential buildings and civilian infrastructure across the city. A strike hit a three-story building, destroyed several apartments, and sparked a fire that injured six residents.
Two additional two-story buildings sustained heavy damage. Emergency responders rescued one person and evacuated 20 residents, including children. Seven people suffered injuries at that location.
A separate drone strike hit another residential building, killing two people and injuring one more. Rescuers evacuated 16 residents from the site.
Psychologists from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine worked overnight, assisting more than 50 people who experienced severe stress.
The elimination of the consequences of the attack is ongoing, and data on the damage and casualties are being clarified.
Context
Russian forces regularly attack Ukrainian cities with drones and missiles, often targeting residential areas and civilian infrastructure. Odesa, a key port and logistics hub, remains a frequent target.
On April 16, Russia launched a large-scale combined attack across Ukraine, firing more than 700 aerial targets in a single day, which caused civilian casualties in at least four regions.
Previously, The Ukrainian Review reported that Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned about a critical shortage of missiles for Patriot air defense systems, while JD Vance confirmed a shift in Washington’s approach to military aid for Ukraine.
