AFU strike ammunition warehouse and fuel train: Details of operations

On the night of April 23, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine conducted a series of large-scale attacks on Russian military targets. Ukrainian defenders successfully destroyed an ammunition warehouse, a logistics train, and a radar station in the temporarily occupied territories. Furthermore, news emerged regarding the unlocking of a massive financial support package from the European Union.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the successful completion of these combat missions.

In its official report, the agency disclosed details of the strikes on the enemy’s rear areas.

“On the night of April 23, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck a missile and artillery warehouse and a logistics warehouse near the settlement of Sartana (TOT of Donetsk region). Also, a train with fuel and lubricants was hit near Voznesenivka in the TOT of Luhansk region,” the General Staff reported.

Additionally, according to the command, warriors hit a P-18 radar station near the settlement of Yevpatoria in occupied Crimea. Ukrainian units also struck an enemy UAV control point near Strilecha in the Kharkiv region. Currently, experts are clarifying the final enemy losses and the scale of the damage. The systematic destruction of logistics hubs remains a key priority for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Unlocking financial assistance from the EU

Alongside successes at the front, Ukraine received vital support at the international level. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the official unlocking of the European credit package. He wrote on Telegram about the significance of this support.

“Today is an important day for our defense. The European support package for Ukraine has been unlocked – this is 90 billion euros for two years,” the President stated.

According to him, the first tranche may arrive in Ukraine as early as May or June this year. The funds will support domestic weapon production and the purchase of necessary equipment from partners. Furthermore, the government will use part of the money to prepare energy infrastructure for the next winter.
