The US President stated this in a comment to The Telegraph. Trump noted that the delay from the United Kingdom in providing access to the Diego Garcia base is unprecedented for relations between the countries. The President believes that Starmer hesitated for too long over questions of legality. Subsequently, London allowed the use of the base for limited defensive purposes, but Trump has already withdrawn support for the agreement on the transfer of the Chagos Archipelago to Mauritius.

Progress of the military operation

The United States continues to intensify combat operations. In an interview with CNN, Donald Trump reported that American troops are “smashing Iran to pieces”. Regarding the duration of the war, the President remarked:

“I don’t want it to last too long. I always thought it would take four weeks. And we’re a little bit ahead of schedule”.

He added that current results are very powerful.

“We haven’t even started hitting them hard yet. The big wave of attacks will happen soon,” Trump emphasized.

The American leader also commented on Iran’s strikes on Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, and the UAE. According to him, the aggressive reaction of Arab countries to these shelling was a surprise. Trump assured partners of control over the situation, yet the allies insist on active involvement in the war. Separately for Fox News, the President noted that the US managed to intercept data about morning meetings of the Iranian leadership, which ensured the effect of surprise.

Previously, The Ukrainian Review reported that Iran had plotted to assassinate Donald Trump. According to the President, Tehran tried to kill him twice. The White House views these actions as a direct threat to global security.
