Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov visited frontline positions in the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kharkiv directions. The visit aimed to synchronize decisions to strengthen the defense and systematically prepare for the spring season. The head of the ministry held meetings with the commanders of Operational Command South, the Joint Forces, and the Unmanned Systems Forces to determine priority steps at the front.

Mykhailo Fedorov reported this on his official Telegram channel. During his work on the front line, the Minister met with corps commanders, brigade commanders, and heads of military administrations.
“Last week, I spent several days working at the front… I met with corps and group commanders, brigade commanders, and heads of military administrations. We held meetings with Operational Command South, Commander of the Joint Forces Mykhailo Drapatyi, and Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert Brovdi (Madyar),” the official stated.
According to the Minister, key priorities include strengthening tactical depth, scaling drone production, protecting logistics, replenishing brigades, and building fortifications. The Ministry is currently deploying additional air defense groups and actively developing the radar field along with electronic warfare (EW) systems.
Key solutions for the front
Under the President’s instructions, the Ministry of Defense is already implementing six specific steps to strengthen the military:
- Basic minimum of drones: introducing a guaranteed monthly supply of FPV drones, reconnaissance, and bombers for brigades in addition to other deliveries.
- Audit of losses: analyzing every loss on the battlefield will help identify systemic problems and make effective management decisions to save soldiers’ lives.
- Automation of needs: transitioning from manual request formation to a digital model based on high-quality frontline data, excluding inefficient solutions.
- Updated procurement plan: the first quarter of the year has already been contracted. The plan includes fiber-optic drones, interceptors, and strike UAVs for operational depth.
- Scaling GRCs: increasing the number of ground robotic complexes to transfer logistics to unmanned platforms.
- “Mavic” analogues: testing and implementing domestic drones using artificial intelligence.
“There will be more necessary equipment. The first quarter has already been contracted: for the first time, the need was formed based on data to avoid subjective influence and corruption risks. Soon, the results of the procurement will be tangible at the front,” Fedorov emphasized.
Previously, The Ukrainian Review reported that the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine launched a system to analyze Russian attacks to adjust air defense operations. The Ministry is also working on introducing digital officers in brigades. Furthermore, Ukraine is experiencing an urgent need for missiles for Patriot systems due to the intensity of Russian shelling.
