The third Patriot air defense system from Germany, which was promised to Ukraine in mid-June, has already arrived in Ukraine.
German Ambassador to Ukraine Martin Jaeger announced this in X, Radiosvoboda reports.
It (the Patriot air defense system – ed.) will strengthen the protection of the population and infrastructure of the country from aircraft, drones and missiles. In recent months, the Ukrainian crew of the system has successfully completed the relevant training in Germany, – the diplomat wrote.
It is known that the German government has not officially announced the transfer of the third Patriot air defense system.
Also, on July 2, it became known that the Netherlands had officially completed the license for the export of 24 F-16 fighters and seven engines for these aircraft to Ukraine. The published letter stated that the F-16s would arrive in Ukraine “in the near future” but did not specify the exact date.
In addition, on June 18, Italy announced that it would provide Ukraine with long-range Storm Shadow missiles as part of the new ninth military aid package. The ninth military aid package also includes the previously promised second SAMP/T air defense system.
On June 20, Romania announces its decision to provide Ukraine with an additional Patriot system.
On June 11, at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin, President Zelenskyy said that Ukraine needs at least seven Patriot systems to protect major urban agglomerations from Russian attacks.
