F-16 for Ukraine

The Dutch parliament published a letter stating that on June 19 it issued a permit to export 24 F-16 fighters and seven engines for these aircraft to Ukraine.

The letter states that the F-16s will arrive in Ukraine “in the near future” but does not specify an exact date.

Operational security remains the main criterion when considering whether to disclose information or not. Based on this, as well as agreements within the international coalition, no further details about this delivery are being provided at this time, – the letter says.

The House of Representatives will be informed about this in confidence “at the request of Ukraine”.

In addition, it has recently become known that fifty specialists who will be servicing the F-16 have already completed training in Denmark. Most of them have already arrived in Ukraine. The specialists are already preparing to receive the first fighters from Western partners. It is also known that Denmark will train another 20 pilots by the end of 2024.
