Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is going to visit Moscow. Before that, he paid a visit to Kyiv.

This was reported by the journalist of the VSquare project Szabolcs Panyi, citing Western officials, informs Hromadske.

It is expected that the prime minister will be in Russia today, July 5. In addition to the Hungarian prime minister, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto is also expected to go there.

Telex also points out that the last time Orbán met with Russian President Vladimir Putin was in October 2023 in Beijing at the One Belt, One Road forum. He went there as the only EU politician.

The expected meeting in Moscow is notable for the fact that Hungary has recently officially assumed the presidency of the EU Council. This may mean that Orbán will meet with Putin, in particular, as an official of this level, journalists have suggested.

Also on July 2, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán arrived on an official visit to Kyiv. This is his first trip to the Ukrainian capital since the start of the full-scale invasion.

Orbán stated that he had arrived to discuss with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy the possibility of achieving peace. He also suggested that the Ukrainian president think about a ceasefire and negotiations.

After the meeting, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the dialogue with Orbán could become the basis for a bilateral document between the two countries.
