Zelenskyy’s spokesman denies an interview with Tucker Carlson, which he announced

Presidential spokesman Sergii Nykyforov has denied that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has scheduled an interview with American pro-Russian journalist Tucker Carlson.

Sergii Nykyforov said this on Facebook, Hromadske reports.

Mr. Tucker Carlson should check his sources in the FSB more carefully. The President of Ukraine has a completely different schedule, and Tucker Carlson is not there, – he wrote.

The day before, Carlson said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had agreed to talk to him. The journalist also said that he had allegedly sent a request to Zelenskyy several times asking for an interview. In turn, he allegedly ignored him.

Who is Tucker Carlson?

Tucker Carlson is a former host and commentator for the American TV channel Fox News, who, after being fired from there, began hosting his own broadcasts on the X platform and on his website.
Carlson is known for his inflammatory rhetoric and spreading conspiracy theories.

The host was fired from Fox News last year amid scandals and lawsuits over allegations of election fraud.

Carlson is constantly quoted by the Kremlin media and accused by the Ukrainian authorities of manipulation.

After the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant in June 2023, Tucker Carlson said that Ukraine was to blame. He published a 10-minute video in which he said that it was the Ukrainian military that blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant dam, but did not provide evidence.

An interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin was aired on the night of February 9. It was Putin’s first interview with a Western media outlet since the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine almost two years ago. In it, Putin, in particular, tried to promote the thesis that by attacking Ukraine, Russia wanted to stop the war.
