The Swedish Armed Forces successfully intercepted a Russian drone near the French nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in the port of Malmö. The incident occurred on February 26 during joint defense maneuvers. Swedish units used electronic warfare systems to neutralize the device as it attempted to approach the strategic NATO asset.

The Swedish broadcaster SVT reported that the French nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle has been in the port of Malmö for several days as part of NATO exercises aimed at practicing interaction among allies in the Baltic region. During these maneuvers, a Russian drone took off from a Russian ship located near the French vessel’s berth. The Swedish side reacted immediately to the appearance of the UAV and began a jamming operation. After using electronic warfare tools, the drone disappeared from radar and observation zones. Currently, official structures have not specified whether the device fell into the water or returned to the Russian ship.
