Russia launched another overnight attack on Ukrainian cities on April 6, using various types of weapons and damaging civilian infrastructure, including a kindergarten. In Odesa, three people were killed, among them a two-year-old child.

Odesa
Russia attacked Odesa with strike drones during the night. As of 10:54 a.m, three people were confirmed dead, and at least sixteen were injured. According to the head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, Oleh Kiper, thirteen people were hospitalized. Among the fatalities was a two-year-old child. Among the injured are a seven-month-old boy and a two-year-old girl.
The injured suffered shrapnel wounds, burns, trauma, and smoke inhalation. Some remain in critical condition. Doctors assess the children’s condition as moderate.
The attack damaged residential buildings and a kindergarten. Drones also struck a regional power substation, leaving thousands of families without electricity. Repair crews have been working since the night to restore power.
Kharkiv Region
Over the past 24 hours, Russia attacked the Kharkiv region using multiple types of weapons, including guided aerial bombs and strike drones. The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported four people injured.
In Kharkiv, Russian forces damaged seven apartment buildings, energy networks, and an office building. Across the region, Russians also hit private homes, economic structures, vehicles, and other civilian infrastructure.
Strikes in Other Regions
In the Kherson region, at least five people got injuries as Russian forces used drones and artillery.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, Russia carried out attacks throughout the day using drones, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, and airstrikes. One person got injuries, and civilian infrastructure suffered damages.
According to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russia also targeted energy infrastructure in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, and Dnipro regions.
Zelenskyy’s Response
The President stated that Russia launched more than 140 strike drones overnight, around 80 of which were Shahed-type drones. Attacks on some regions continue without interruption.
According to Zelenskyy, over the past week Russia used more than 2,800 strike drones, nearly 1,350 guided aerial bombs, and over 40 missiles of various types against Ukraine.
“Right now, all partners need to strengthen air defense together so that the interception rate of drones and missiles continues to increase. This is a daily effort for everyone, not just Ukraine, because through supplies, support for us, and joint work, our partners are helping themselves as well,” Zelenskyy said.
He emphasized that Russia has no intention of stopping.
