The Netherlands will provide Ukraine with 209.5 million euros to restore critical infrastructure and humanitarian aid, the head of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on social media X after a meeting with G7 foreign ministers in New York, Radio Svoboda reports.

Also, according to Caspar Veldkamp, the Netherlands is contributing 45 million euros to the Energy Support Fund for Ukraine and financing the supply of necessary equipment.

According to the minister, Ukrainians are preparing for one of the harshest winters, and “Ukraine needs energy to survive.”

At today’s meeting with the G7 foreign ministers and partners, including (Ukrainian Foreign Minister) Andrii Sybiha, I emphasized that we must join forces to ensure this, –  Veldkamp said.

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine emphasizes that significant damage caused by Russia’s massive attacks, including one of the largest attacks on the energy sector on August 26, continues to complicate the operation of Ukraine’s energy system. In addition, Russian troops continue to shell energy infrastructure facilities on a daily basis.

According to the ministry, since October 2022, Russia has launched more than a thousand strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, and this year alone, 9 GW of generating capacity has been lost due to the strikes.
