German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, Intelligence Chief Kyrylo Budanov, and Alexander Lukashenko released several statements regarding the future of the full-scale war. During a visit to Kyiv, Pistorius described the Kremlin’s “peace” initiatives as part of hybrid aggression. Simultaneously, Lukashenko announced the need for urgent rearmament of the Belarusian army, while Budanov explained the conditions for a potential dialogue with Moscow.

Ukrinform reported that German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, during a press conference in Kyiv, said the Kremlin is attempting to manipulate the international community.
According to him, Vladimir Putin always plays with “marked cards” when it comes to negotiation processes. Pistorius emphasized that the recent three-day weekend “truce” was once again violated by the Russian side.
“I think that Putin wants to distract from his own weakness with his current actions,” the minister added.
He is convinced that the aggressor is simply bluffing because the Russian army currently lacks significant territorial gains.
Lukashenko’s Military Rhetoric and the CPD Reaction
The self-proclaimed President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, announced a plan to analyze the technical equipment of his troops. The BELTA outlet reported that the dictator called for considering Belarusian territory as a potential theater of operations. He used the conflict between Iran and Israel as an example to prove the importance of ground operations. However, the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CPD) at the NSDC, Andrii Kovalenko, reported that these statements are manipulative. Kovalenko stressed that Belarus is merely imitating activity and lacks the resources for a real offensive. Any aggressive actions by Minsk would be a fatal mistake for the regime.
Ukraine’s Position on the Diplomatic End of the War
Kyrylo Budanov, during a visit to Lithuania, noted that a conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin will not happen suddenly. As reported by LRT, the intelligence chief ironically noted that mobile phone calls between warring countries are impossible. However, he emphasized that Ukraine has always advocated for peace and the end of hostilities.
“Making peace is not a weakness, but proof of common sense,” Budanov stated.
Official Kyiv is ready for a serious conversation only if the opponent’s intentions are sincere.
