On Monday, August 5, Minister of Justice of Japan Ryuji Koizumi arrived in Kyiv with a visit. Together with his Ukrainian counterparts, he plans to discuss opportunities for further cooperation in the areas of judicial reform and anti-corruption, Espreso reports.
On August 5, Japanese Justice Minister Koizumi arrived in Ukraine. During his visit, he plans to hold a series of meetings with his colleagues to discuss opportunities for further cooperation in the areas of judicial reform and anti-corruption, – the Japanese Embassy in Ukraine said in a statement.
Upon arrival, the Japanese minister visited the memorial to the victims of the Russian occupation in Bucha together with Ukraine’s Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin. They also visited the coordination center for victim and witness support, which takes care of victims and witnesses of the war.
Later, Koizumi also visited the Central House of Culture in Irpin, which was severely damaged by Russian shelling in the first days of the full-scale war.
The head of the Japanese Ministry of Justice laid flowers at the Wall of Memory of the Fallen Defenders of Ukraine and paid tribute to the war heroes.
Recently, on July 29, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, and Science of Japan Masahito Moriyama also paid a visit to the Ukrainian capital. In particular, he visited the cities of Irpin and Bucha in Kyiv region. During his visit, he held a number of meetings with Ukrainian colleagues to discuss joint projects and opportunities for further cooperation in the cultural and educational spheres.
