Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has arrived at a visit to China. This was reported by Radiosvoboda.

In furtherance of the contacts between the leaders of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Xi Jinping, I am making the first visit of a Ukrainian high-ranking official to China since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression against Ukraine. This is also the first bilateral visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to China since 2012, – the minister said on his Instagram on July 23.

According to Kuleba, “extensive, detailed, substantive” talks with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on ways to a just peace are ahead.

The Foreign Minister noted that “the focus is on one issue – peace in Ukraine”. He plans to look for common ground in order to avoid competition between peace plans.

It is very important that Kyiv and Beijing are engaged in direct dialog and exchange of positions. We will also discuss bilateral relations. I am convinced that after Ukraine started negotiations on joining the European Union, China should look at relations with our country through the prism of its strategic relations with Europe, – Kuleba added.

The day before, the foreign ministries of Ukraine and China announced that on July 23-25, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba would pay a visit to China at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
