Lithuania hands over new military aid package to Ukraine

On August 28, forklifts, anti-drone systems and folding beds for the Ukrainian military arrived in Ukraine. They were sent by Lithuania as part of a new military aid package.

This was informed by the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense, Hromadske reports.

The ministry says that in response to Ukraine’s requests this year, Lithuania has already transferred:

  • 155-mm ammunition
  • M577 armored personnel carriers;
  • M113 armored personnel carriers;
  • anti-drone systems;
  • winter equipment and clothing;
  • ammunition for the Karl Gustav anti-tank grenade launcher;
  • RISE-1 remote detonation systems;
  • generators;
  • disassembled parts of the L-39ZA Albatross light attack aircraft;
  • forklifts
  • trailers
  • folding beds;

Since the beginning of the war, Lithuania has provided military assistance to Ukraine worth more than 647 million euros. Lithuania’s total support for Ukraine has already exceeded 1 billion euros.

It is worth noting that Lithuania sent the first part of the new military aid package to Ukraine on August 15. It included forklifts, trailers and folding beds.

In addition to military aid, Lithuania extended temporary residence permits for refugees from Ukraine until March 4, 2026. Currently, more than 44,300 Ukrainians have a valid residence permit in Lithuania under the temporary protection program.
