Hungary has simplified entry into the country for people with Russian and Belarusian passports. This happened after Prime Minister Viktor Orbán paid a visit to Moscow, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Hromadske informs.
According to Deutsche Welle, Budapest has added Russian and Belarusian citizens to the “national card” program, which is issued to anyone wishing to work in Hungary for two years with the possibility of extending this period.
The “National Card” allows you to get a job in Hungary and bring your family with you, and after three years, you can get a permanent residence permit. Previously, the cards were available only to citizens of Ukraine and Serbia, but since July 9, they have been extended to citizens of Russia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Moldova, North Macedonia, and Montenegro, “Medusa” has learned.
The German edition of the RND points out that the EU does not verify “national cards” at the European level, so such actions by Hungary are “worrying.” In the spring, the Hungarian government announced that it expects 65,000 people to arrive in the country to work here.
