Germany has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine. It includes eight Leopard 1 A5 tanks, which Berlin handed over jointly with Copenhagen. This is evidenced by a list published on the German government’s website, Babel reports.
The contents of the new package:
- Eight Leopard 1 A5 tanks (Germany handed over together with Denmark);
- 21 thousand shells for the Gepard air defense system;
- ten surface drones;
- two Bergepanzer armored recovery vehicles;
- ten ground-based radars;
- 24.8 thousand helmets;
- one field hospital.
- As of July 29, Ukraine has received 58 Leopard 1A5 tanks from Germany, up from 50 earlier.
Germany is one of the European leaders in military assistance to Ukraine. Germany has handed over Leopard 1 and Leopard 2 tanks of various modifications, IRIS-T and Patriot air defense systems, MARS II and M142 HIMARS MLRS, Marder armored personnel carriers and Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, a large number of armored vehicles and vehicles, and much more.
