The United States has allocated another $200 million security assistance package for Ukraine. It will include air defense equipment, HIMARS and Javelin missiles.
This was reported by the White House, Suspilne informs.
The $200 million package includes air defense interceptor missiles, ammunition for rocket systems and artillery, and anti-tank weapons.
In addition, the US Department of Defense announced a “significant support package” that will use about $1.5 billion from the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). This assistance includes:
- Ammunition for NASAMS;
- Ammunition for short- and medium-range air defense systems;
- RIM-7 missiles for air defense;
- electronic warfare equipment;
- ammunition for HIMARS;
- 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells;
- 120 mm mortar shells;
- high-precision aircraft munitions;
- Optical tracking and wire guided missiles (TOW);
- Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank systems;
- small arms
- explosives and equipment for detonation;
- secure communication systems;
- satellite imagery services;
- spare parts, maintenance and support, and other auxiliary equipment.
This is the 9th package of military aid to Kyiv since US President Joe Biden signed a decree in April to provide about $61 billion in aid to Ukraine.
The Department of Defense is also providing long-term support through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative fund to strengthen air defense, long-range strike capabilities, and anti-tank capabilities.
