US Vice President Kamala Harris said that if she wins the presidential election, she will continue to support Ukraine and NATO, Suspilne reports.

The politician said this during a speech at the US Democratic Party convention.

On the last day of the Democratic National Convention, after officially agreeing to run for president, Harris spoke in defense of Ukraine and NATO, criticizing Republican candidate Donald Trump’s previous comments on the war in Ukraine.

As president, I will stand firmly with Ukraine and our NATO allies, – she said.

Harris added that five days before Russia’s full-scale invasion, she warned President Volodymyr Zelenskyy about the outbreak of war. She also noted that she helped lead the US diplomatic response, bringing together “more than 50 countries.”

I helped mobilize more than 50 countries to defend against Putin’s aggression, and as president, I will stand firmly with Ukraine and our NATO allies, – she emphasized.

The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5 this year.
