Harris leads Trump in several key states – Bloomberg

31.07.2024

The current US Vice President Kamala Harris, who replaced Joe Biden in the election race, is ahead of Republican candidate Donald Trump in four key states, Hromadske reports.

This is evidenced by a Bloomberg News/Morning Consult poll.

Thus, Harris is ahead of Trump in Arizona (49% vs. 47%), Michigan (53% vs. 42%), Nevada (47% vs. 45%) and Wisconsin (49% vs. 47%). Georgia remains tied (47% each), but in North Carolina (48% vs. 46%) and Pennsylvania (50% vs. 46%), Trump is in the lead.

Nevertheless, Harris’s advantage in these states is minimal, within the statistical margin of error.

However, Harris’s intentions to run for president have revitalized the enthusiasm of the Democratic Party, Bloomberg writes, and the change of candidates seems likely to boost voter turnout in swing states.

In his campaign, Harris has been actively courting black and Hispanic Americans. Donald Trump also tried to attract the latter category of the population, especially the male audience.

In addition, the Republican candidate faced a dilemma of how to properly oppose his opponent without looking racist and sexist.
