In a telephone conversation with his Brazilian counterpart, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, US President Joe Biden confirmed that he will attend the G20 summit to be held in Rio de Janeiro on November 18-19.

Biden confirmed his attendance at the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro in November and wished Brazil success as chairman of the group, – the text says.
Biden and Lula da Silva discussed bilateral and multilateral issues, as well as the situation in Venezuela.
Regarding Venezuela, Lula da Silva noted that he is monitoring the election process on an ongoing basis through his special representative, Celsa Amorim, who is deployed to Caracas, – the statement said.
The US presidential election is scheduled for November 5 this year. On July 19, former U.S. President Donald Trump officially agreed to run for the U.S. presidency from the Republican Party.
On July 21, Joe Biden announced that he was withdrawing his candidacy from the presidential election. He added that it was in the best interests of his party and the country for him to step down and focus solely on fulfilling his duties as president for the remainder of his term. After that, Harris announced that she intended to run for the US presidency instead of Joe Biden.
On July 25, Harris officially announced that she would run for President of the United States.
