On September 6, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to attend a meeting of the Ramstein Contact Group on Ukraine’s defense in Germany to personally ask Western partners for further supplies of weapons to fight the Russian Federation, Suspilne reports.

According to the German newspaper Spiegel, a meeting of defense ministers of Ukraine’s supporters will be held in Ramstein, which Zelenskyy also wants to attend and personally ask for more weapons from his partners.

Berlin told Spiegel that Zelenskyy plans to “describe the gravity of the situation” with his visit to the defense ministers’ meeting. The Ukrainian president also wants to ask his partners for fresh supplies of weapons for his army, including long-range missiles and additional air defense systems.

After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began in 2022, the United States gathered like-minded allies at the Ramstein air base in Germany. The allies managed to create a group of about 50 countries that meet regularly to respond to Kyiv’s requests for weapons needed to defend against Russian aggression.
