On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with a bipartisan delegation of the United States Congress. At the meeting, special attention was paid to the Victory Plan, Suspilne reports.
This was informed by the press service of the president.
It is noted that the meeting was attended by Senate members Ben Cardin, Dan Sullivan, Christopher Murphy, and House member Gregory Meeks.
Zelenskyy thanked both parties and both houses of the US Congress, and US President Joe Biden, for their support.
During the meeting, the President of Ukraine spoke about the situation at the front, the course of the operation in the Kursk region, the needs of Ukrainian soldiers and the importance of timely delivery of defense packages.
Particular attention was paid to the Victory Plan, which Volodymyr Zelenskyy will present to the US President, the US Congress and both presidential candidates this week.
This is a very specific plan to strengthen Ukraine without any decisions or pressure from Russia. This plan does not depend on any decisions of Putin, – Zelenskyy explained.
During the meeting, they also discussed the prospects for implementing reconstruction projects. Ahead of winter, one of the key areas is to strengthen the Ukrainian energy system. In addition, Zelenskyy noted that it is important to strengthen sanctions against Russia.
