In total, 23 people died in Kyiv as a result of the night attack, including four children. Emergency rescue operations and dismantling of structures are ongoing at the locations.
The US administration has been trying to equate the victim with the aggressor in the war for a long time.
A White House spokeswoman, commenting on the massive Russian shelling of Ukraine at night, mentioned the strikes on oil refineries in Russia and admitted that “both sides” may not want the war to end.
She spoke with Trump about the Russian strike, and “he was not pleased with this news, but he was not surprised either.”
We have never heard any specific condemnation of the aggressor country. This is actually a very disturbing trend that shows all the cynicism and immorality of world geopolitics.
Keith Kellogg wrote that last night Russia carried out the second largest airstrike of the war, using 600 drones and 31 missiles. “The targets? Not soldiers and weapons, but residential areas of Kyiv — the bombing of civilian trains, offices of the EU and UK missions, and civilians. These egregious attacks threaten the peace that President Trump seeks.”

And does Trump really want a just peace? According to The Atlantic, the answer is NO. The US administration needs any peace so that Trump can receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
How the war will end? He is not interested. Even if Russia continues to kill civilians en masse, the main thing is to somehow, even on bad terms for Ukraine, freeze the war.
World leaders, as usual, wrote words of support, Western media described the full horror of the tragedy, while pro-Russian and Chinese media were quietly silent about it. The main thing is missing – decisive action.

Partner Actions
The US State Department has approved the sale of air-launched missiles ERAM and equipment to Ukraine worth $825 million.
The deal includes 3,350 long-range missiles (240–450 km), the same number of GPS/INS systems with SAASM modules, and related equipment.
At the same time, as we know from information in numerous American media outlets, Ukraine is still prohibited from using American long-range weapons on Russian territory.
In turn, the European Commission is developing a mechanism that will allow transferring almost 200 billion euros of frozen Russian assets to a special fund and using them to rebuild Ukraine after the war.

Conclusion
A certain paradox appears. There are many details that indicate that the freezing or end of the war is imminent, while it is also clear that we are very far from such a development.
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan points out that the Kremlin’s new demands for an end to the war no longer include the desire to control four regions of Ukraine. Russia wants to maintain the front line in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as secure about 25-30% of the territories of the Donetsk region that have not yet been captured.
Ukraine will not withdraw from Donbas, because this would be both military and political suicide.
It is absolutely clear that the Kremlin will then put pressure on Trump and present Ukraine as the main obstacle to the lack of peace.
Will the current US administration change its mind? As European politicians used to say: President Trump listens to the person he spoke to last…
