US presidential election: first polling stations opened

Today, on November 5, the US presidential election has started and the first polling stations have opened. Millions of Americans have already voted early, Babel writes.

According to CNN, the first polling stations opened in Connecticut, Kentucky, Maine, New Jersey, New York, New Hampshire, and Virginia at 06:00 ET (13:00 Kyiv time). In western Kentucky, some polling stations will open at 07:00, and in Maine they will open from 06:00 to 10:00, depending on the population of the city.

The latest polls will open in Hawaii is at 12:00 ET (19:00 Kyiv time).

The first polls will close at 19:00 ET (03:00 November 6, Kyiv time) in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia, and the last ones will close at 00:00 ET (08:00 November 6, Kyiv time) in Hawaii and Alaska.

And the tiny village of Dixville Notch in New Hampshire announced the results at midnight, with Democrat Kamala Harris and Republican Donald Trump each receiving three votes. Residents of this village are the first in the country to vote.
