The United States has approved a possible sale of extended-range munitions and related equipment to Ukraine worth about $373.6 million. The package includes Joint Direct Attack Munition Extended Range (JDAM-ER) kits that convert standard air-dropped bombs into precision-guided weapons capable of striking targets at distances of over 70 km.

European Pravda reported this, citing the US State Department.
Details
Ukraine requested more than 1,200 tail kits for JDAM bombs of various configurations, along with several hundred additional components of other types.
The package also includes spare parts, software, technical support, and logistical assistance provided by US contractors. Boeing will serve as the main contractor.
The US State Department said the delivery will strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities and improve its ability to counter current and future threats, including in the context of self-defence and regional security.
Officials also said the decision forms part of broader US military assistance to Ukraine. Washington has previously approved supplies of air defence equipment, including systems such as the Patriot missile system.
Context
The decision comes amid Russia’s prolonged war against Ukraine and growing pressure on US and allied defence stockpiles. Washington has also warned partners about possible delays in other deliveries due to the need to replenish its own arsenals.
Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine faces a critical shortage of Patriot interceptor missiles amid rising global security tensions.
