Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has said that Nazis are fighting on the side of Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is disappointed with the Slovak politician’s words, Hromadske informs.

Fico spoke about the Nazis in Ukraine during a commemoration of the Holocaust in the Slovak city of Sered, Teraz reports.

We all talk about fascism, Nazism, and at the same time we silently tolerate the fact that troops are running around Ukraine, which have a very clear designation, which are associated with movements that we consider dangerous and prohibited today. Since this is a geopolitical battle, no one cares, – Fico said.

He also said that the international community should prevent troops who identify themselves with Nazi symbols from fighting in Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was disappointed by Fico’s remarks and said that the Slovak prime minister’s words contradicted the existing level of trust and cooperation between the two countries.

Ukrainian soldiers are now defending their families, homes and country, as well as the whole of Europe and the free world from Russian invaders, marked with the Latin letter “Z” – a symbol of the fascist aesthetics of modern Russia. For Ukrainians, countering Russian aggression is a continuation of the history of our people’s resistance to totalitarian regimes in the last century, – the Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry also emphasized that it is counting on “the united efforts of Slovakia and all our European partners in countering the latest Russian evil, which has brought atrocities to Ukrainian soil unprecedented since World War II”.
