On the night of April 4, Ukrainian Defense Forces launched a large-scale drone and missile attack on Russian territory. The operation targeted chemical plants in Tolyatti, logistics hubs, and military assets in occupied regions and border areas of Russia. The strikes caused major fires at industrial facilities and damaged a foreign cargo ship in Taganrog, resulting in one fatality.

Robert Brovdi, commander of the “Magyar’s Birds” unit, reported the specific results of deep strike operations. He stated that Ukrainian forces destroyed an S-400 “Triumph” radar station in Feodosia and a “Tor” air defense system in the Donetsk region. Furthermore, the military successfully hit two Shahed drone storage hubs in Navlya, Bryansk region, and at the Khalino airfield in the Kursk region of Russia.
Impact on Industrial and Logistic Assets
Meanwhile, the Astra Telegram channel and OSINT analysts confirmed fires near the “Tolyattikauchuk” and “KuibyshevAzot” plants in the Samara region. Governor Vyacheslav Fedoryshchev confirmed that a factory worker was injured during the strike. These plants produce synthetic rubber and nitrogen fertilizers, which are critical components for the Russian industry. The fire following the attack by at least seven drones lasted for approximately two hours.
In Taganrog, Rostov region, a missile strike damaged the warehouses of a logistics company. Governor Yuri Slyusar reported one death and four injuries resulting from the attack. Additionally, drone debris caused a fire on a commercial cargo ship in the Taganrog Bay. Local authorities restricted transport movement in the industrial zones of the affected cities.
Previously, The Ukrainian Review reported that in March 2026, the Russian army failed to make territorial gains for the first time in over two years. This stability is directly linked to successful Ukrainian military actions in the southeast.
