The Ukrainian Defense Forces have destroyed the Russian radar station Nebo-M. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Units of the Missile Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have successfully struck the Russian radar station “Nebo-M” with ATACAMS ballistic missiles. The General Staff notes that its destruction will significantly reduce the Russian army’s ability to detect, track, and intercept aerodynamic and ballistic targets. The destruction of this system will create a favorable “air corridor” for the effective use of Storm Shadow and SCALP-EG cruise missiles.
The Nebo-M radar is a very difficult target to destroy, operating in stealth mode, scanning the horizon for airborne objects. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, only 10 systems of this type are reportedly left in Russia. And each costs more than $100 million.
It is worth noting that in May of this year, drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine damaged Russian long-range target detection radars Voronezh-M and Voronezh-D.
