The Armed Forces of Ukraine have officially confirmed a counteroffensive operation in the Oleksandrivka direction. According to the Air Assault Forces, Ukrainian units have regained control over an area exceeding 300 square kilometers since the start of the operation. During the offensive, defenders successfully liberated eight settlements across the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

The Command of the Air Assault Forces reported this development officially. The primary objective is to disrupt Russian plans for further advancement and push enemy forces beyond the administrative borders of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Military officials stated that the operation successfully hindered Russia’s strategic goals in the south. Currently, the active phase continues, and the military will provide final results later.

Course of the operation and defense successes

The battlefield situation remains highly dynamic as Russian troops attempt to hold their positions using all available manpower and equipment. Despite frequent enemy assaults, Ukrainian paratroopers continue to repel attacks and advance steadily.

“Despite the enemy’s active assault actions, the units of the Air Assault Forces group repel all attacks and successfully conduct offensive operations,” the Command stated.

Ukrainian forces have already cleared the liberated territories of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups. The military specified the extent of their achievements at the current stage.

“With the start of the operation, the Air Assault Forces group, together with adjacent units, restored control over an area of more than 300 square kilometers (cleared of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups) over eight settlements. While the active phase of the operation is ongoing, it is somewhat premature to talk about its final results,” the Air Assault Forces added.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed these tactical successes. He noted that the Ukrainian army is effectively exploiting Russian vulnerabilities.

“I will not go into details, but today I can first of all congratulate our army — all defense forces, because as of today, 300 square kilometers have been liberated,” Zelenskyy said.

Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported that Ukrainian forces carried out strikes against key military and logistics facilities in Russia and occupied territories.
