Ukraine will be able to become a member of the European Union within five years if it carries out all the necessary reforms, Babel writes.
This was stated by European Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varghese at a press conference in Brussels, DW reports.
As a reminder, a report on EU enlargement was presented in Brussels, which describes the progress of the candidate countries.
According to Varghese, the EU has created additional tools for Ukraine, Moldova, and the Western Balkans to “help them accelerate reforms”.
These instruments are called the Growth Plan, the Ukraine Plan, depending on the country. And with this plan, we have made it possible for the Western Balkans, Moldova, and Ukraine to complete reforms to get everything ready and become an EU member by the end of the next European Commission mandate, – he said.
The new European Commission’s mandate will run until the end of 2029.
