Reports on the attacks

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the attacks. As of 11:24 on February 12, the enemy’s losses and the scale of the damage are being clarified. In addition to facilities on Russian territory, Ukraine’s Defense Forces also struck Russian ammunition depots in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Attack on the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate

In the settlement of Kotluban in Russia’s Volgograd region, drones and missiles attacked the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate. After the strikes, detonation began. The arsenal attacked on February 12 is one of the key logistics hubs of Russia’s Ministry of Defense. Russians store, service, and modernise ammunition there. The General Staff reports that it is one of the largest sites for storing ammunition for the Russian army. Ukraine used long-range FP-5 “Flamingo” weapons to carry a strike. The depot is located about 400 km from the border with Ukraine.

Local authorities are evacuating residents of a nearby settlement. Eyewitnesses heard explosions around 1:30 a.m. Volgograd Governor Andrey Bocharov claimed that Russian air defense repelled the attack, and that the fire and detonation occurred due to falling debris.

Strike on the “Progress” plant

In the Russian city of Michurinsk in Tambov region, residents heard around 12 explosions. Drones hit the “Progress” plant, which produces high-tech equipment for aviation and missile systems. Russian air defense, while tying to intercept targets, caused damage to the city.

This was at least the second attack on “Progress.” The previous one occurred in June 2025. The plant supports the Russian army, helping it continue the war against Ukraine. Last November, Ukraine imposed sanctions on the “Progress” plant.

Attack on a refinery in Ukhta

Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck the Lukoil-Ukhtaneftepererabotka refinery in the Russian city of Ukhta, according to the Ukrainian resource Exilenova+. Ukhta is located 2,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. A UAV damaged an atmospheric-vacuum oil distillation unit. Disabling this facility will directly hinder the production of heavy petroleum products and affect further deep-processing chains. After the attack, traffic jams formed in the city.

Previous Ukrainian attacks in Russia

The General Staff previously reported that on the night of February 11, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck an oil refinery, depots, air defense systems, and enemy concentration areas. The strikes targeted both Russian territory and temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Among the hit facilities was the Volgograd Refinery. In the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, Russian depots in Crimea and Zaporizhzhia region were struck. Anti-aircraft missile systems were also attacked in the occupied parts of Donetsk and Kherson regions.

Earlier, The Ukrainian Review reported on Russian losses in the war against Ukraine. According to NATO, in 2025 alone the losses of the Russian army amounted to around 400,000. The figure refers to personnel killed and wounded.
