The defense ministries of Ukraine and Saudi Arabia signed a defense cooperation agreement. The deal includes joint defense contracts, technological collaboration, and investments.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported this on Telegram.
Details
“Before our meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, we signed the relevant document. It lays the foundation for future contracts, technological cooperation, and investments, and strengthens Ukraine’s international role as a security provider,” Zelenskyy wrote.
The agreement also boosts Ukraine’s role as a security donor.
Ukraine will share experience and systems for countering ballistic missile and drone attacks:
“For five years, Ukrainians have fought the same type of terrorist attacks with ballistic missiles and drones that the Iranian regime now carries out across the Middle East and the Gulf region. Saudi Arabia has what Ukraine needs, and this cooperation can be mutually beneficial,” the president added.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Saudi Arabia seeks Ukraine’s expertise, and the collaboration can bring benefits to both sides.
Context
Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Saudi Arabia ahead of the agreement signing. Ukraine offered to exchange its experience in countering drones for Saudi Arabia’s help in accessing U.S. missile supplies, which are becoming increasingly scarce.
Meanwhile, the UAE discovered fragments of drones marked “Geran-2” from Russia. Preliminary reports indicate air defenses shot them down during a large-scale Iranian attack on Dubai.
Iran also attacks the Persian Gulf using Shahed drones, following Russian methods. It launches drones in waves, creating chaos, disrupting critical infrastructure, and applying psychological pressure. Since Iran has a limited stock of ballistic missiles, it relies on mass-produced drones instead.
Previously The Ukrainian Review reported that the Trump administration considers a large-scale military operation against Iran.
