13.01.2026

On the night of January 13, Ukrainian forces struck the “Atlant Aero” factory in Taganrog, Russia (Rostov region), and hit several military targets of Russian occupation forces on temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.

The “Atlant Aero” factory specializes in the full cycle of design, production, and testing of Molniya strike-reconnaissance drones and components for Orion UAVs.

According to the General Staff, hitting this facility will significantly reduce Russia’s drone production capabilities and limit its ability to carry out strikes on civilian targets in Ukraine. Explosions and fires were recorded at the production buildings, with the scale of the damage still being assessed.

Strikes on Enemy Targets in Occupied Territories

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck a number of enemy targets on temporarily occupied territories:

  • Occupied Zaporizhzhia region: Tor SAM system in Chereshneve, Tunguska SAM system in Podsporye, P-18-2 “Prima” radar station in Lozuvatka, and enemy troop concentrations near Lyubymivka.

  • Occupied Donetsk region: ammunition depot and troop concentrations in the Makiyivka area, as well as a Tor SAM system in Sonyachne.

The General Staff noted that the results of the strikes are still being verified. Such actions are aimed at weakening the offensive and military-economic potential of Russian occupation forces and compelling the Russian Federation to cease its aggression against Ukraine.

Russia Continues Striking Civilian Infrastructure

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukrainian forces have regularly struck occupied territories and Russian regions, working to weaken enemy rear bases and reduce its offensive potential.

At the same time, Russia continues systematically targeting Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure. According to the United Nations Universal Monitoring Mechanism, 2025 became the deadliest year for civilians since the full-scale invasion: over 2,500 civilians were killed and more than 12,000 injured. Most casualties were caused by long-range weapons, including missiles and drones, hitting residential areas and critical civilian infrastructure.

Attacks on the energy sector also continue: multiple strikes on thermal power plants, substations, and power lines have caused mass blackouts, leaving tens of thousands without electricity, including during extreme cold.

Conclusion

The strike on the “Atlant Aero” factory and other military targets in occupied territories demonstrates the effectiveness of UAF actions in reducing the combat potential of Russian occupiers. Destroying a key drone production facility limits Russia’s ability to strike civilian targets in Ukraine.

At the same time, ongoing Russian attacks on residential areas and energy infrastructure show that the aggressor continues to inflict significant destruction and civilian casualties.
