Trump promises to “withdraw” the US from the war in Ukraine if re-elected

25.09.2024

Donald Trump, if re-elected president, will end the US involvement in Russia’s war against Ukraine, which Democrats Kamala Harris and Joe Biden allegedly led to, Suspilne reports.

The Republican candidate said this at a campaign event in Georgia.

Biden and Kamala got us into this war in Ukraine and now they can’t get us out of it. I think we are stuck in this war unless I become president. I can handle it. I will achieve negotiations, – the former president said.

During his speech, he also mentioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is currently on a visit to the United States. Trump called him “the greatest salesman on earth”, who makes billions of dollars every time he visits the United States.

During the debate, Trump promised that if he won, he would end the war in Ukraine within days, even before he took office again. Trump did not say how he intends to do this.

Many American and European politicians fear that Trump’s victory in the presidential election could lead to the end or reduction of American aid to Ukraine. Others believe that Trump will try to persuade Kyiv to negotiate with Russia on unfavorable terms.
