U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States may take tougher measures against several countries, including Colombia, Mexico, Iran, and Cuba. He made these remarks while speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One following the recent U.S. military operation in Venezuela, according to The New York Times.
Colombia: “Sounds Good to Me”

Speaking about Colombia, Trump sharply criticized the country’s president, Gustavo Petro, calling him a “sick man” allegedly involved in the production and export of cocaine to the United States.
Trump said that Colombia is “very sick” and is run by a man who enjoys producing and selling cocaine to the United States, but added that he would not continue doing so for long.
When asked directly by journalists whether Washington might consider a military operation against Colombia, Trump replied that it “sounds good to me.”
Mexico: Drugs and Cartels

Trump also stated that the U.S. could be forced to act regarding Mexico due to large-scale drug trafficking.
He noted that drugs are “flowing like a river” across the Mexican border and that the country is effectively controlled by cartels.
He stressed that something must be done and expressed a desire for Mexico to take action itself, but added that, unfortunately, cartels currently govern the country.
Cuba: “On the Brink”
Regarding Cuba, Trump suggested that military intervention might not be necessary, arguing that the country is in a critical state and has lost its main source of revenue following the events in Venezuela.

Earlier, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also stated that the Cuban government is facing “serious problems,” accusing Havana of supporting Nicolás Maduro’s regime.
Iran: Threat of Force
Commenting on the situation in Iran, Trump hinted at the possibility of a strong U.S. response if violence escalates within the country.
He said that if Iranians start killing people as they have in the past, the United States would strike them very hard.
Context: Operation in Venezuela

Trump’s statements came after the U.S. operation in Venezuela, during which American forces captured President Nicolás Maduro and transported him to New York to face charges of drug trafficking and illegal arms dealing.
Trump stated that the United States would “manage Venezuela” until, in his words, an “independent transition of power” is secured.
Conclusion
Trump’s remarks indicate a potential expansion of U.S. military operations in Latin America and beyond. Following the Venezuela raid, the U.S. administration is considering tough measures against Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, and Iran, highlighting rising tensions in the region and the potential threat to international stability.
